Honest Guide
If you have searched for Turkish food in Singapore, four names keep coming up — Cappadocia on Bussorah Street, Ayasofya near Sultan Mosque, Alaturka a few doors down, and us, LAYALI, on the corner of Beach Road and Arab Street. We eat in this neighbourhood too, so here is the honest comparison we would give a friend.
Cappadocia is the old faithful — one of the originals on Bussorah Street, with the biggest pile of reviews and a menu that has fed the district for years. Ayasofya is the showman: the pottery-kebab fire show is genuine theatre and the dining room is always buzzing. Alaturka is the connoisseur’s pick — Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2016, premium ingredients, and a loyal following of regulars who have eaten there for decades. Each is worth your money. The district is honestly better for having all of them.
So why LAYALI? Three things none of them combine: we are open latest — until 1:00am every night, when the rest of the street has gone dark. We have the district’s grandest spaces — an alfresco terrace, a banquet floor for 20–200, and the only Sultan-style private lounge. And we deliver direct from our own kitchen, islandwide, $6.80 flat and free over $120. If you want the classic Bussorah Street experience, our neighbours will feed you well. If you want late nights, big groups, and charcoal fire on the Beach Road corner — that table is ours.
